About the Acura TLX

In the storied history of the Acura nameplate, the dynamic TLX remains the most agile, best-appointed, and sharpest-handling sedan the brand has ever offered. The TLX features bold styling, your choice of two turbocharged engines, a reinspired interior, and an array of innovative new tech features to enhance your drive. In other exciting news, the legendary TLX Type S high-performance model is back after a 10-year hiatus with an exclusive 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine and torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™. Using domestic and globally sourced parts, the Acura TLX is manufactured exclusively at the company’s Marysville, Ohio with engine production happening at the Anna, Ohio engine plant. When it comes to midsize luxury sedans, the competition simply cannot match the strengths of the proven Acura TLX.

What the Critics Say

“ Inside, the TLX has an expressive design that highlights its sporty character. These include attractive analog gauges and a prominent rotary drive-mode selector in the middle of the dashboard. Solidified by Acura’s excellent build quality, the TLX also boasts nicer cabin materials than its predecessor, including open-pore wood and real aluminum.” – Car and Driver

“ A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard, and it acquits itself well against rival powerplants in the Audi A4, Genesis G70, Lexus IS and Volvo S60. For more power and performance, the racy TLX Type S provides a turbocharged V6, torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, and handling improvements to ensure it can run with similarly fortified competitors.” – Edmunds

Bold Design

True to its iconic heritage, the bold exterior appearance of the Acura TLX emphasizes both athletic handling and powerful performance. Compared to the prior generation, the latest model features a 3.7-inch longer wheelbase, a 2.2-inch wider body with wider front and rear tracks (+1.2 inches and +1.6 inches, respectively), and a lower roofline. Other striking characteristics of the exterior include Jewel Eye® LED headlights with four LED elements and bright-white “Chicane” LED daytime running lights. The popular A-Spec sport package returns as well, offering drivers a collection of distinctive sport appearance upgrades inside and out. For a truly track-inspired look, TLX Type S models include a rear decklid spoiler, aggressive front splitter, rear diffuser, and large quad exhaust outlets.

Exhilarating Performance

Drivers will have their choice of two potent turbocharged engines on the Acura TLX. Standard power comes from a 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged engine with VTEC, paired with a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift. Delivering a total of 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, this engine represents a sizable gain over the prior-gen naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder. Powering the race-inspired TLX Type S is a muscular 3.0-liter, 24-valve, DOHC direct-injected and turbocharged V6 which produces 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The new body and chassis design has resulted in a 50 percent increase in global torsional stiffness. With engineering taken from the NSX supercar, the TLX also receives a highly sophisticated electric-servo brake system for maximum stopping power.

Tech-Focused Cabin

Crafted with the concept of “Dual Personal Cockpit” in mind, the interior of the Acura TLX places emphasis on both the driver and front passenger. Examples of premium materials available inside the cabin include real aluminum, open-pore wood, and full-grain Milano leather. In terms of infotainment, the TLX is offered with a standard 12.3-inch Precision Cockpit™ Digital Instrument Cluster and a 12.3-inch Center Display for an immersive infotainment experience.. Drivers can also access the latest generation of AcuraLink™ with in-vehicle Wi-Fi to stay connected throughout the trip. Every TLX also comes standard with the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies including new features like Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Driver Awareness Monitor, and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA).
