Acura ADX Performance

Performance Compared

The first category in which we’ll compare these three Acura SUVs is performance. Starting with the smallest member of the lineup, the Acura ADX boasts turbocharged performance with 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque from its standard 1.5L VTEC® engine. Drivers can choose between FWD or available AWD for enhanced traction and confidence. Stepping up to the Acura RDX means you’ll receive a more powerful turbocharged 2.0L engine mated to a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic and standard SH-AWD. Producing a total of 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, the RDX offers balanced power and handling. For those in search of maximum capability, the Acura MDX is available with two individual powertrain choices including a 290-horsepower 3.5L V6 and a race-inspired 3.0L turbocharged V6 that cranks out 355 horsepower on MDX Type S variants. While the ADX is not recommended for towing, the RDX is rated for up to 1,500 pounds and the MDX delivers a maximum rating of up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity.

Acura MDX Three-Row Seating

Dimensions Compared

Moving on to the dimensions of the ADX, RDX, and MDX – Acura SUV shoppers will find plenty of key differences between them along with some surprising similarities. Naturally, the smaller ADX and its city-sized platform results in the most compact interior space of the group, and yet it still boasts an impressive 55 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. Giving you the best of both worlds, the RDX offers even more room while still retaining a compact footprint and agile handling characteristics. Sitting atop the Acura model range for interior space is the three-row Acura MDX. With room for up to 7 passengers along with an outstanding 95 cubic feet of cargo space – the MDX is the ultimate choice for those with growing families or growing networks of friends.

Acura RDX Technology
