Acura TLX vs. Competition

Our first comparison is between the Acura TLX and the Audi A4 - an interesting one because the starting MSRPs are so similar. But getting into the details, we can see several points where the Acura is offering more. More horsepower, more torque, more transmission speeds. This leads to a significantly more engaging and exhilarating experience behind the wheel. There’s also more space, particularly cargo space. Larger 19-inch alloy wheels help the TLX stand out from the ordinary as well. Inside, you’ll find more equipment in the TLX including a fair amount that isn’t available at all on the A4. These include some pretty desirable options including a proximity key system and a remote start system, both of which are basics of the luxury car world at this point. Memory seating functions are also there to help make your commute more comfortable. Audi is also unable to match the longer powertrain warranty coverage and complimentary scheduled maintenance visit included with the purchase of a new Acura TLX.

Next up against the Acura TLX is the BMW 3-Series. The BMW starts off with a couple of real disadvantages. The most glaring of these is the front suspension. The double wishbone design on the Acura has more points of contact with the frame, giving you better control and handling than you would have with the strut system in the BMW. At least with the smaller wheels or lower horsepower figures, BMW buyers could spend more money to option up but that’s not an option with the suspension. The 3-Series comes standard with some new tech goodies but Acura shoppers can quickly overcome that advantage as the BMW costs more than the Acura, meaning Acura buyers can enjoy the Technology Package, get all the latest tech, and still spend less money. The TLX is well equipped in its standard configuration but the Technology Package gives drivers serious advantages like a better stereo, remote start system, and adaptive cruise control for enhanced convenience behind the wheel. Since we’re talking about cabin comfort, it's also worth mentioning that heated seats aren’t standard on the BMW 3-Series as they are on the TLX.
