About the Acura MDX
Say hello to the most luxurious, performance-focused, and technologically advanced SUV in the history of the Acura brand. Now in its fourth generation, the MDX combines a sophisticated exterior look with groundbreaking tech features inside its premium cabin. Already a leader in the midsize luxury SUV segment, the MDX builds on two decades of success with innovations found inside and out.
Engineered using the ethos of the Precision Crafted Performance brand DNA from Acura, the MDX takes performance capabilities to astounding new heights. With styling led by the Acura Design Studio in Torrance, California, the MDX will continue to be built exclusively at the company’s auto plant in East Liberty, Ohio. Two potent engine options provide drivers with the power and efficiency to enhance every drive.
What the Critics Say
“ The latest incarnation of Acura’s flagship looks sharp and impresses with its smooth V-6 and slick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. Its steering is light and accurate, and it sharpens up even more in Sport mode. The MDX also grew in every dimension from its predecessor, opening up more space for passengers and cargo.” — MotorTrend
“ Acura’s latest version of Super Handling All-Wheel Drive impressively enhances the MDX’s nimbleness and helps with wet-weather traction. The MDX has a comfortable ride but can still rail through turns like an SUV half its size. Accurate and natural-feeling steering complement whatever driving you’re doing, from corners to long hauls on the highway.” — Edmunds
What’s New for 2024
There are no changes to the Acura MDX for the 2024 model year. It remains an outstanding choice for shoppers in search of the ideal midsize luxury SUV. You’ll have no trouble finding an MDX that perfectly fits your lifestyle thanks to its extensive list of options and features.
Acura MDX Features
Engineered to provide the agile handling of a sports sedan with the versatility of an SUV, the Acura MDX is built on a new platform featuring multiple enhancements in rigidity and weight reduction. The result is a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase and a stance that’s 1.4 inches wider in the front and rear — the fourth-generation MDX offers a far more refined ride.
You’ll notice a multi-faceted Diamond Pentagon grille at the front and four-element JewelEye® LED headlights featuring an embedded Chicane™ daytime running light signature. More poised than ever before, a lengthened hood adds a “cab-rearward” stance accentuated by a variety of bold alloy wheel designs. A striking character line spans the entire length of the MDX, culminating at the rear with confidence.
Standard power for the Acura MDX comes in the form of an advanced 3.5-liter direct-injected i-VTEC™ V6 engine rated at 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) technology works to expand the powerband and maximize fuel efficiency in tandem with functional exterior design aerodynamics. It comes paired with an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift and standard paddle shifters.
If you are looking for more “Inspired Performance”, look no further than the Acura MDX Type S, which marks the brand’s first application of the Type S high-performance nameplate to an Acura SUV. Type S models are powered by a muscular 3.0-liter turbocharged DOHC V6 engine, producing 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The optional rear-biased Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system of the MDX balances thrilling performance capabilities with all-weather confidence. When properly equipped, the MDX offers a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds (SH-AWD models only). Learn more about MDX Towing Capacity here.
A signature component of the Acura MDX since its introduction two decades ago, its luxurious cabin complemented by an enhanced third-row seat help set this SUV apart from the competition. Another segment first introduced by the MDX is its multi-function removable middle seat, providing owners with three distinctive seating options. Standard comfort amenities include next-generation Acura sport seats featuring 12-way adjustment, three-way seat heating, and three-position memory. Authentic materials such as open-pore wood, aluminum accents, and full-grain Milano leather available in all three rows provide the MDX with a first-class experience for every occupant.
Technology takes center stage inside the cabin of the fourth-generation Acura MDX. Prominently featured in the center of the dash is an innovative 12.3-inch True Touchpad Interface™ (TTI) ultra-HD display complemented by the Virtual Cockpit Digital Instrument Cluster that centralizes all your driving information. Amazon Alexa Integration, AcuraLink, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay Integration keep your devices connected while on the go.
Select the available ELS STUDIO 3D premium audio system for an immersive experience unlike any other on the market today. An expanded suite of AcuraWatch™ advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies helps provide a helping hand when you need it the most behind the wheel of the Acura MDX.
