Drivers in the Orland Park, Tinley Park, and Naperville regions who want a mid-size sedan that delivers smooth and luxurious performance have their perfect match with the 2016 Acura TLX! When compared with the 2016 Buick Regal, the TLX is clearly superior, with more impressive engine options, greater fuel economy, sharper interior, and safety and technology enhancements that raise it above its class. The TLX is more than just a car, it’s an experience.

Better Performance and Mileage

The TLX outshines the Regal with powerhouse performance for its TLX, TLX V6, and TLX SH-AWD® (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™) trims . It has a 206-hp 2.4L i-VTEC® direct injection four-cylinder engine with 182 lb. ft. torque, or an optional 290-hp 3.L i-VTEC® direct injection V6 with Variable Cylinder Management™ and 267 lb. ft. torque. Eight-speed DCT (dual-clutch) or nine-speed automatic transmission options add to the oomph, along with Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS®). *EPA-estimated numbers are just as impressive: the four-cylinder has 24 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, the V6 and SH-AWD® have 21 mpg city, the V6 has 34 mpg highway, and the SH-AWD® has 31 mpg.

Conversely, the Regal has a 259-hp 2.0L turbo DOHC VVT engine with six-speed automatic transmission AWD for its GS, Premium II, Regal 1SL, and Regal 1SV trims, with an optional 182-hp 2.4L engine for the 1SV. EPA-estimated numbers for all of them are 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

More Distinctive Features

Interior perks highlight the TLX’s quality over the Regal:

  • 2016 Acura TLX: The 2016 TLX is an achievement in comfort, with triple sealed doors and acoustic glass, ten-way adjustable driver’s seat, tri-level front seat heating, steering wheel and side mirror memory settings, fold-down center armrest for mobile device holders or cupholders, multiple levels of trunk storage space, center console with two 12V power outlets, USB port, and designed to conceal wires, and an illuminated glove box with adjustable shelf.
  • 2016 Buick Regal: The 2016 Regal does not have all of the above specs, and capacities are lesser, such as an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, a simpler trunk space, and a smaller console with one power outlet.

Greater Safety Technology

Constructed with the ACE™ (Advanced Compatibility Engineering™) body frame, the TLX brings plenty of peace of mind while on the road. Seven airbags include driver’s knee, and front side SmartVent™ ones,  a multi-angled rear camera, and an Advanced Package that includes adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, front and rear parking sensors, road departure mitigation, and collision mitigation braking system™.

The Regal does not have a comprehensive airbag system, and its Confidence Packages are optional only for the GS and Premium II trims.
