Comparing the 2018 Acura TLX against the 2018 Cadillac ATS demonstrates just how ahead of the curve the Acura TLX has accelerated. From groundbreaking performance systems through to state of the art safety as standard, and even the practicality of added trunk space, the Acura TLX excels where the Cadillac ATS falters.

The 2018 Acura TLX connotes spirited performance more deeply than the 2018 Cadillac ATS, and it brings sophisticated engineering to match.

You’ll choose between either Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS®) – the first production all-wheel steer system that can adjust toe angles independently – or Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®), so expect untold agility and control. Unlike the Cadillac, the Acura offers a DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission). One clutch is used for odd gears and another for even, so the next up or down is instantly preloaded to deliver a seamless delivery of power.

2018 Acura TLX Driving

The new Acura TLX is surprisingly well-equipped as standard, even for a model in the luxury sedan segment. A 10-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar helps you achieve perfectly personalized support, while 3-level heating front seats ward off the winter chills as you cruise around Oak Brook and Tinley Park.

These features are missing from the standard Cadillac ATS, which also lacks the Acura’s innovative GPS-linked automatic climate control system. Trunk space is another problem with the Cadillac ATS – its disappointing 10.4 cubic foot capacity is dwarfed by the Acura TLX’s 14.3 cubic feet.

The 2018 Acura TLX delivers sophisticated safety as standard through the following driver assistance features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Head-Up Warning
  • Road Departure Mitigation system

These features are also available with the 2018 Cadillac ATS, and yet you’ll only be granted access to them when you pay out for a higher trim level.
